A tragic incident unfolded at an illegal party in San Antonio early Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a young woman and the injury of a man. Sheriff Javier Salazar reported that the violence erupted at a “rave-type party” being promoted on social media at an old structure on Old Pearsall Road.
The authorities arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. and found a woman in her early 20s deceased and a man in his late 20s wounded. The shooting is believed to have stemmed from a disagreement between groups at the party. Despite nearly 20 witnesses being present, little information was provided to help the investigation.
Sheriff Salazar expressed frustration over the lack of cooperation from witnesses, stating, “Just extremely frustrating that a little girl 21 years of age is now dead and nobody is able to give us enough information.” He urged anyone with knowledge of the incident or video footage to come forward and assist law enforcement in their investigation.
Further disturbing details emerged as officials discovered that some individuals at the party had reportedly filmed the dying woman as she struggled for breath, showing a shocking lack of humanity and empathy. Authorities are also seeking to speak with any employees present at the event, such as bartenders and security guards, for additional information.
The building where the party took place was found to have illegal water and electricity hookups, indicating that it should not have been occupied. One individual was arrested on the scene for unrelated charges, but law enforcement has not confirmed their involvement in the shooting.
Sheriff Salazar emphasized the importance of cooperation from the public in solving this tragic case, urging anyone with information to contact the authorities. As the investigation continues, officials are hopeful that justice will be served for the victims and their families.
