ALVIN, Texas (KTRK) — Alvin ISD is urging parents to securely store weapons at home after a kindergarten student brought a gun to school.

The incident occurred at Savannah Lakes Elementary School, where administrators discovered the firearm in the student’s backpack and promptly intervened to confiscate it. The district’s police department is conducting an investigation into the matter.
