ABC 13 Houston Welcomes Brandon Hamilton as Weekend Morning Anchor

Houston TV news is about to get a familiar face as Brandon Hamilton joins ABC 13 Houston as its newest weekend morning anchor. Hamilton, who has spent the last three years as an anchor/reporter at WBTV in Charlotte, N.C., will soon be making the move to Houston to join the ABC affiliate.

According to media blogger Mike McGuff, Hamilton’s last day at WBTV will be on Wednesday, after which he will be making the transition to ABC 13 Houston. Hamilton announced the news on social media, expressing his gratitude to the Charlotte community for their trust and support over the years.

Hamilton’s move to Houston comes after a successful career in broadcasting, including stints at KWTX-TV in Waco and as a digital journalist/producer at ABC 13 Houston. With a background in journalism from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in radio/television from Texas Southern University, Hamilton is well-equipped to take on his new role in Houston.

Joining Hamilton in the Houston morning news scene is DaLaun Dillard, who recently made his debut as a morning anchor at FOX 26 Houston. Dillard took over the role left behind by local TV news legend Jose Griñan, who retired after 30 years of anchoring the morning news at the channel.

Hamilton’s arrival at ABC 13 Houston is sure to bring a fresh perspective and energy to the weekend morning news team. With his experience and passion for storytelling, viewers can expect a dynamic and engaging presence on their screens as Hamilton transitions to his new role.

As Houston continues to evolve and grow, Hamilton’s addition to the local news landscape represents an exciting new chapter for ABC 13 and for Houston TV viewers. We look forward to seeing Hamilton’s impact in his new role and wish him the best as he embarks on this new adventure in Houston.
