The Out 100 event in Hollywood last Thursday drew an extraordinary crowd of LGBTQ+ people making a difference. Out Magazine and Out.com recognized 100 of the year’s most influential LGBTQ+ people, including Brandi Carlile, named Icon of the Year for her use of her voice, and Jamie Lee Curtis, who was honored as Advocate of the Year. The honorees, divided into six categories, were celebrated for their impact on the community. ABC and Disney family members, Robin Roberts, Gio Benitez, and Ray Warren, were also among the honorees. This year, the editors introduced the Out100 America, which highlights individuals who have promoted LGBTQ+ rights, advocacy, and representation within their local communities. Leslie ‘RevJax’ Jackson, an Out100 Honoree, echoed the sentiment: “I wanted to go back to church and be part of a church. I didn’t know where to go. So the work I do now is creating a space for those who want to return to church and still believe in Jesus Christ and be part of a community, to be able to do that.” The special presentation of “The 2023 Out100” will air on various ABC Owned Television Stations.
