LOS ANGELES — Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are now divorced.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judgment dissolving their marriage of nearly three years became official Tuesday, six months after the 30-year-old pop star filed a petition for divorce from the 28-year-old real estate broker.
According to court papers, the two had separated over a year ago. Fortunately, they had a prenuptial agreement in place, no children, and no significant legal disputes, which allowed the divorce to proceed quickly and smoothly through the court system.
The terms of their settlement were agreed upon in October, and Grande will be making a one-time payment of $1,250,000 to Gomez with no future alimony. Additionally, she will give him half of the proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home and will cover up to $25,000 of his attorney fees.
As is common in California divorces, Grande cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split in her petition.
The couple began dating in January 2020 and announced their engagement in December of the same year. They got married in a private ceremony at Grande’s home in Montecito, California, on May 15, 2021.
Grande, a Florida-born singer and actor, recently released her seventh studio album, “eternal sunshine,” on March 8. She is also set to star as the good witch Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical “Wicked,” alongside Cynthia Erivo, scheduled for release in November.
While the news of Grande and Gomez’s divorce may come as a surprise to some, it appears that both parties have reached an amicable agreement and are moving forward with their lives.
