Authorities in Houston, Texas are investigating a disturbing incident in which a woman from Montgomery shot and killed a Houston man, claiming that he had kidnapped and drugged her. The incident took place near a Hill Country winery, where the woman was found alone.

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the woman on March 15, stating that she had shot a man who had kidnapped her. Deputies located her near a winery on East US Highway 290 and found the man, later identified as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid, dead in his car in the outside lane of westbound traffic.

The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken to the hospital for treatment. It was revealed that the two individuals knew each other and were on a planned weekend trip together when the violent incident occurred.
