A man was shot multiple times in a suspected road rage incident along the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road in Fort Bend County, Texas. The victim, who is in his 20s, was traveling southbound on the toll road when he was shot multiple times all over his body, including his head. Despite his injuries, he managed to drive about 10 to 12 blocks on the toll road before crashing into a barrier near W Fuqua and coming to a stop.
A witness noticed the wrecked vehicle and called 911. The victim was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. Witnesses at the scene described the incident as a case of road rage and reported that the suspect fled the scene in a black four-door sedan.
Police are now hoping to identify the suspect with the help of Houston Transtar cameras. The southbound lanes of the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road between Beltway 8 and W Fuqua were closed for several hours while the police investigated the shooting.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and Houston Police Department worked together to secure the scene and divert traffic. A tweet from the FBCSO Texas account confirmed the closure of the highway at W Fuqua Road and directed southbound traffic onto the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8) as a detour.
The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of road rage and the importance of staying calm and avoiding confrontations while driving. Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is urged to contact the authorities.
