Viewers who witnessed the hail storm firsthand sent in videos showing the intensity of the storm as cars were pelted with circular-shaped ice, creating cracks and covering the sidewalks. The day of the storm, ABC13’s Weather Team declared a Weather Alert Day for southeast Texas from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. when the alert expired.
According to the CenterPoint Energy power outage map, several customers were still without power the morning after the storm, but crews were actively working to restore power.
